Destination Lapland Muonio Oy general terms and conditions - ONLINE BOOKINGS

Destination Lapland Muonio Oy (hereinafter “Nivunki Village”) follows the terms below regarding orders, reservations, and cancellations of services. These terms shall become binding on both parties once the Customer has made the payment specified in these contractual terms.

  1. Booking and confirmation

In the online booking system, the Customer pays for the accommodation in advance. The booking is confirmed once Nivunki Village has received the payment either by credit card or through an online banking system.

To book accommodation, the Customer must be at least 18 years old.

Nivunki Village accepts the following credit cards: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, Switch, Solo, Discover, Delta, Diners, JCB.

  1. Right to change prices

Once the booking has been confirmed, the marketing organisation reserves the right to increase the agreed price in the event of changes to taxes or public charges affecting the price of the holiday service.

  1. Cancellations

A cancellation shall always be made in writing to Nivunki Village to e-mail: info@nivunkivillage.com.

If the Customer terminates their booking and departs from Nivunki Village before the end of the lease period, no compensation will be paid for the unused time, and the Customer is not entitled to a refund.

It is recommended to obtain travel insurance in case of illness or a pandemic affecting travel plans. Nivunki Village does not accept cancellations without cancellation fees unless otherwise stated. The reservation is non-refundable, even if a medical certificate or other documentary evidence is presented.

A. 19th Dec 2026 – 2nd Jan 2027

Reservations made for the specified period are non-refundable. If the reservation is cancelled or modified, the total price of the reservation will be charged. The same applies in the event of a no-show. Nivunki Village reserves the right to charge the total reservation amount to your credit card.

B. Other periods

If the Customer has made non-refundable reservation, the reservation is non-refundable.

If the Customer has made a reservation with a flexible rate, the reservation can be cancelled or modified up to 60 days prior to arrival without any cancellation fee. If the reservation is cancelled later than 60 days prior to arrival, a 100% cancellation fee will be charged.

A cancellation is regarded as valid once Nivunki Village has been informed of it. If the Customer can show that the cancellation was made and sent to the right address in time, the cancellation is approved even if Nivunki Village received it late or never received it.

  1. Check-in and check-out

CHECK-IN starts at 15:00 on the day of arrival.

CHECK-OUT is at 11:00 on the day of departure.

In case of a room change, the same times apply.
Guests checking out after 11:00 will incur a late check-out fee of €25 per hour.

For safety reasons, only checked-in guests are allowed on private premises, and the maximum capacity per room may not be surpassed. Please let us know your estimated time of arrival at least a couple of days in advance. When staying at Nivunki Village, every guest must provide a valid ID.

5. Airport transfer and special diets

If the customer has reserved airport transfers from Nivunki Village, customer needs to inform the flight details to Nivunki Village at least one week in advance. Please inform the flight details to info@nivunkivillage.com.

Our guests are fully responsible for informing their special diets to the Nivunki Village latest seven days before arrival. We will not be able to arrange special meals without the information.

6. Force majeure and the applicable law

Nivunki Village will not be liable for any damage or inconvenience incurred by the Customer in the event of an unpredictable and insurmountable obstacle (force majeure) or some other comparable reason (such as a power failure) that was not caused by Nivunki Village and whose effects Nivunki Village organisation could not be reasonably expected to prevent. Neither is Nivunki Village responsible for any damage or inconvenience caused by regular natural phenomena, including orders by the authorities or special circumstances such as pandemic.

The exclusively applicable law is the Law of Finland. Any dispute arising from or relating to the services offered by Nivunki Village shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Finnish courts and handled in the District Court of Lapland.

7. Guest behaviour and guests’ responsibility for damage and own valuables

The guest is obligated to follow good manners at Nivunki Village. If the guest breaks these terms & conditions and conducts themselves appropriately, Nivunki Village reserves the right to remove the guest immediately from the resort premises without any refund.

As a guest, you are responsible for damage caused on purpose or by accident by you, or your guest, in the room or in the resort premises. This also applies to the resort furniture, other equipment, and other guests or their property. Nivunki Village has the right to charge the cost of caused damages on the spot at the resort from the customer. The resort is not responsible for damage or disappearance of valuables during your stay. Take good care of your belongings.

Smoking is strictly forbidden in all indoor facilities. For smoking inside, Nivunki Village will charge 1.000 €. No pets allowed.

8. Reclamations

Any complaints or concerns regarding the reservation should be reported to the reception staff immediately so that the issue can be resolved quickly. Complaints made afterwards will not be considered by Nivunki Village. Nivunki Village reserves the right to change the general terms and conditions.

9. Destination Lapland Muonio Oy terms and conditions - Excursions

The weekly program is valid from 14.11.2026 to 04.04.2027 (weather and trail conditions permitting).

Husky safaris and snowmobile tours are not recommended for pregnant women or persons with back, hip, leg, or wrist problems.

Snowmobiling Excursions

The driver of the snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid full driver’s license for cars. Please note that drivers need to be able to show the driving license before a snowmobile excursion, and during the tour if requested. All snowmobile excursions include the use of snowmobile, fuel, maintenance, insurance (maximum personal liability will be determined later in spring 2026) and guide service. A person participating in a snowmobile excursion without a partner is not eligible to book a shared snowmobile and will automatically be charged the single-driving rate.

Husky Experience

To be able to steer your own husky team, the driver must be at least 18 years old.

General

100% refund for cancellations made more than 24 hours before the experience departure time. If the reservation is cancelled or modified less than 24 hours before the activity start time, the full reservation amount will be charged. The same applies in the event of a no-show. The minimum group size is 4 persons unless otherwise stated.

Nivunki Village reserves the right to alter any tour due to weather conditions or for the safety of the customers. Once a booking has been made, Nivunki Village reserves the right to increase the agreed price in the event of changes to taxes or public charges affecting the price of the service. Prices include VAT.

The terms and conditions of Nivunki Village apply to all bookings. In the event of a disagreement, the parties shall primarily seek to resolve the matter through mutual negotiations. If no settlement is reached through such negotiations, any disputes shall be settled by the district court in the domicile of Nivunki Village.
